Last Sunday my partner was taking Bonnie our Jack russell for a walk over our local park when Bonnie run up to this rather large dog to play  after the usual sniffing of hello and how are you they started to run around the park like two lunatics.  My Partner whistled for Bonnie to come back and she did so straight away but so did this other dog.  My partner just went to stroke the other dogs head when Bonnie growled a bit jealous I think but to my partners shock the other dog turned nasty and went for bonnie’s throat and pinned her down to the ground.  The other owner was an oldish lady who did not know what to do and just stood there and froze  my partner grabed the other dog off of Bonnie and he says he can still hear that squeal that she let out. My partner picked Bonnie up and after getting her to calm down a bit placed her back on the ground to see if she could walk.  Everything looked fine, in the meantime the other dog’s owner was very shocked and stated that her dog had never done anything like this before.  As Bonnie looked okay my partner said it’s okay I dont think she is hurt that much, but in his head he was not so sure.  With this the lady took her dog home rather quickly.  After a few steps my parnter could see a spot of blood on bonnies chest and knew that it was not as good as he thought it was and by the time he got her home it was straight to the emergency vet down at blackmoor.  Bonnie was bitten quite deeply and required stiches and a drain to be put in for 7 days.  When Bonnie came home she was still under the effects of the anisetic and was very drowsy.  It was then that my partner stated “I WISH I HAD GONE WITH WHAT WAS BEING SAID IN MY HEAD AND GOT THE LADIES CONTACT DETAILS”.  Even though the cost of her vets bill would be paid anyway it would have been nice to have had a contribution seeing as it was her dog that had bitten Bonnie.   But there you go I’ve always said before you answer just stand back a think for a second and go with what your head or gut is telling you as 9/10 it is the correct thing to do.
